Lutwala Dive can offer the best in professional level scuba diving certifications in Indonesia. As a 5* PADI IDC Training Centre, Lutwala Dive runs regular Divemaster and Instructor Development Courses (IDC), teaching students to become professional level scuba divers.
Divemaster Internship Program
The PADI Divemaster course is the first level of professional scuba diver training and upon completion will allow you to work worldwide as a representative of the PADI organisation. Essentially a scuba diving ‘apprenticeship’, you will closely shadow an instructor for four weeks learning how to demonstrate skills in confined water, how to assist an instructor with student scuba divers and how to independently lead scuba certified divers. In addition, you will expand your theoretical understanding of diving with a series of lectures, prove your stamina in four swim tests and test your nerve in the final diving equipment exchange. You will very much become part of the Lutwala Dive team and upon finishing your Divemaster training we will happily offer you work experience within the dive shop to get you kick-started.
During your 4-5 week course period you will dive as often as possible and free of charge with a wide range of diver levels. As an PADI 5* IDC centre Lutwala Dive aims to prepare all Divemasters for a potential PADI instructor course as well as to a standard making you employable worldwide.
For those students wishing to take the full Divemaster Package Deal with Lutwala Dive, you will not only get your accommodation included, but also learn additional skills (fill tanks, service diving equipment and maintain diving gear) within the dive shop. In addition you will be educated on the dive shop sales, marketing and daily operational aspects.
Instructor Development Course (IDC)
Lutwala Dive prides itself on being an Instructor Development Centre, and not an instructor factory. We choose to limit the number of candidates in our IDC courses as we believe that larger groups detract from the attention you are able to get from your Course Director and staff and can put more pressure on you. Your time during IDC should be spent in a positive manner, preparing you for the professional diving world, and you should be able to receive as much one on one attention as you need to become a confident PADI Instructor. For this reason our courses are the longest in the area, to give you more time to develop your skills and we keep our courses to a maximum of 6 candidates, and average of 4. You will have dedicated staff to mentor you through this course, not one person but several experienced Staff Instructors and Master Instructors and your Course Director.
The Instructor Development Course (IDC) consists of several components including the Assistant Instructor Course, Emergency First Response Instructor Course, the Open Water Scuba Instructor Program and a mock Instructor Exam for practice before your actual testing.
For those students wishing to participate in an IDC Internship, you can choose to get your accommodation included (if available), and also learn additional skills (fill tanks, service diving equipment and maintain diving gear) within the dive shop. In addition, you will be educated on the dive shop sales, marketing and daily operational aspects.
