We’re gearing up for Christmas here at Lutwala and even though it’s 30 degrees and the chances of snow are slim to none, we’re in the festive spirit and looking forward to celebrating on our beautiful tropical island.
We’ve decorated the place and there are plenty of santa hats floating around on the staff members heads’ and on a couple of divers underwater!
We’ve had a busy couple of weeks, which started with a day of Discover Scuba Diving with 12 of the local staff who all had a blast. Most of them had never tried diving before so everyone was very excited and they all did very well! We definitely have a couple of potential Divemasters amongst the group!
We also saw the graduation of two of our Divemaster Trainees, Dany and Brennan, which obviously meant we had two snorkel tests…with two very pretty ladies. For those of you who don’t know the snorkel test is when the Divemaster is dressed up in a silly costume and drinks an interesting concoction of beverages through a snorkel kit. The guys did very well to complete their internships in the short amount of time that they had so we are very proud of them. We hope to see you guys back here soon and possibly even for your IDCs…
The newest addition to the Lutwala family/zoo is our new pet goat, who depending on who you ask is either called Emma, Bambine or Gladis. She was brought to us in a very bad condition after her mother died but with some medication, she made a quick recovery and is doing very well. She has stolen all of our hearts and is feeling very comfortable on the premises. She is even getting into the diving spirit….
On Christmas Eve we will be showing Christmas movies on the beach in the evening. Everyone is welcome to come along to watch some Christmassy classics! Then on Christmas day we will have two dives, 9am and 11.30am, so we are praying for good conditions so we can start the celebrations with some awesome dives. We’ll be busy in the kitchen all day preparing a feast for the party we’re having in the evening for the whole Lutwala family.
